Pierce College has a lot of talented students. Jessica Storrer and Amanda Shimizu from Brazil, along with Rara Yulianingtyas from Indonesia, offer a humorous take on the behaviors they’ve witnessed their fellow NWCCI participants exhibit as they start to prepare to return to their home countries. Which one are you?
In the last laps of our journey, we have started to realize that it is time to go home. Each person develops different characteristics based on their interests that define how they will behave. What about you? It’s likely you’ll see yourself in one or more of the characters below.
Can you relate to any of these? If so, don’t feel bad. You aren’t alone. Behaving like this is completely natural and everybody who has studied abroad has faced the same experience. Now, in your last moments in U.S, try to relax and enjoy your precious time with this international family that you are lucky to have.
The NWCCI program is part of the Community College Initiative, an exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
